Tips for Staging Your Home to Sell Smartly

April 29, 2017

Have you ever been to the showing of a house? If yes, then you must have noticed how neat and clean and good looking the owner and the broker try to make it to impress the prospective buyer. The same applies to you when you are trying to sell your home in Massachusetts. Even though the inventory is low, you cannot expect to sell your house quickly without preparing it for staging. Here are a few tips for staging to help you in your endeavor.

Improve the curb appeal of your property

First impression is often the last impression they say, and they are not wrong altogether. If the buyer does not like what he sees when approaching your property, he is likely to be put off. Instead, you should do something to make him interested in your home by increasing the appeal of your property. Put up a address plate at the front door. Clean the driveway and remove all dead leaves and clutter to give your buyer sparkling clean exteriors.

Do the paint job if possible

The sight and feel of freshly painted rooms makes your buyer feel good from inside. It also helps in removing all odours from the home to depersonalize the home for him. Remove all heavy furniture from inside your home when preparing it for staging even if you do not have space for them elsewhere. Furniture makes your home look smaller than it s and it also obstructs the mind of the buyers as he cannot imagine placing his own furniture in the interiors.

Update your kitchen and bathroom

These two rooms are the rooms that your buyer is most interested in when coming over for a showing. Do not let him decide against buying your home on account of what he sees in your bathroom and kitchen. Neat and clean toilet and sink create a very good impression on the buyer. Replace faulty fittings if possible to update your kitchen and bathroom.

Clean windows and mirrors

You may not think much of the appearance of windows and mirrors but you can easily put the visitor off by letting him get a blurred image in a mirror placed inside the home. Also, make sure that all windows have clean glasses and there are no broken glasses in your home. Do not ignore the broken or faulty doorbell as buyers pay attention to the smallest of details.
